About the artist

I'm a retired chemistry professor who has indulged my creative side with painting in oils, egg tempera, and pencil sketching over many years.  I'm continually grateful for and inspired by the beauty of the natural world, including the human figure. In my art, I try to express these sentiments. In addition, I find great satisfaction in expressing more esoteric ideas through the use of visual symbolism.  I find it intriguing to learn what thoughts these images invoke in the viewer,  and am often amazed and delighted at the profound insights people come up with, often going beyond even what I had intended.  I hope you will find satisfaction and perhaps inspiration in the works presented on these pages.
